Stage 1 · In the US
You contact us
Tell us which vehicle you are looking for, or which one you already found in the US. We talk about make, model, year, colour, budget and features.
We search and compare options
We show you the platforms and sources we work with and go through the options together by make and model, year, colour, condition, price, location and related costs. You see the options before you decide.
We choose the vehicle and make the offer
When you find one you like, we arrange the offer or purchase with the dealer or seller. You know the price and terms before going ahead.
Vehicle purchased
Once the offer is accepted or the vehicle is bought, the import formally begins. Payments to the auction, the seller or the dealer are arranged, depending on how it was bought.
Overland transport
Once paid, we book the tow truck from the vehicle's location to the port. Our reference manual lets us estimate this cost by distance before arranging the move.
Shipping to Costa Rica
At the port we arrange the sea freight, which is priced by the vehicle's size and features. Then it sails for Costa Rica.
Stage 2 · In Costa Rica
Unloading and bonded warehouse
When it reaches Costa Rica, the vehicle is unloaded and moved to the warehouse the shipping line assigns.
DEKRA inspection
At the warehouse, the vehicle goes through the DEKRA inspection needed to continue with its registration in Costa Rica.
Tax assessment
After the inspection comes the tax assessment, based on the official table that sets the vehicle's value.
Tax payment
With the assessment done, the taxes are paid and the vehicle waits for approval to continue.
Storage and release authorisation
Storage fees can build up while the process is completed, and are paid as they apply.
Approval and release: the big day
With every approval and payment complete, the vehicle is released and heads to its final destination.

We charge the part's price on the platform plus 25%, and shipping to Costa Rica, which the carrier charges by weight.

What people ask us most about rental, import, parts and sales.
A copy of your cédula (or your passport if you're visiting from abroad) and a valid driving licence. To book we ask for a 20% advance payment; the security deposit goes on a credit card, and the rest can be paid by SINPE Móvil or in cash.
The rate changes with the season, for example at Christmas or Easter week (Semana Santa). Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and we'll give you the exact price.
We deliver and collect it at no extra cost in central Guápiles, Jiménez or Guácimo.
Every rental includes two coverages: SLI, third-party liability insurance, with a ₡150,000 deductible, and LDW, which covers the car against damage, theft or accident, with a ₡500,000 deductible (rollovers and accessories are not covered). Neither covers damage from drink-driving, driving under the influence of drugs or reckless driving, and after any accident you must tell us and the insurer straight away.
Yes. When you book you can ask for a driver, a child seat or an additional driver, and they are written into the contract.
About a month and a half from purchase to delivery in Costa Rica. It can be less: it depends on when the shipping line loads the vehicle.
It depends on the vehicle's value, year and model, and on transport, taxes and customs clearance. We look at each vehicle and give you a personalised estimate before you buy: the tow depends on where the vehicle is, the ship charges by its size, storage by how long it stays in the warehouse, and taxes by the vehicle's features.
Our fee is $500. It covers choosing the vehicle, advice during the purchase, support and handling in the US, tracking the transport, and support until it arrives and is delivered in Costa Rica.
We find it for you. We work with suppliers in Japan, China, Europe and the US and look for each part by your vehicle's make, model and origin, including makes like BMW, especially parts that are hard to find or no longer sold in Costa Rica. Tell us the make, model, year and part, and we confirm availability and price on WhatsApp.

Yes. All our vehicles come with the warranty required by current Costa Rican law, and the specific coverage, duration and claim procedure are set out in writing when you complete the purchase.
